About the event
150 years ago, the railway connected Kingston SE and Naracoorte. On Sunday 27 September, we’re retracing the route — this time by road.
Join us for a special commemorative convoy celebrating 150 years of the Kingston–Naracoorte Railway, travelling from Kingston SE through to Naracoorte and following the historic railway route as closely as we can.
Beginning at Lions Park in Kingston SE, the convoy will travel through the old railway sidings and communities along the line, with stops along the way to hear the stories, history and people connected to the railway.
We’ll stop in Lucindale for a BBQ lunch at the Lucindale Historical Museum, before continuing along sections of the historic route to Naracoorte, where the day concludes with a tour of The Sheep’s Back Museum and a two-course roast dinner. You may bring a packed lunch if a BBQ is not to your liking.
This isn’t a race…
