Kingston SE Lions 48th Annual Surf Fishing Contest

23–24 January 2027 | Kingston SE, South Australia

Grab your mates, pack the fishing rods and get ready for the ultimate summer fishing adventure along South Australia's spectacular coastline!

The Kingston SE Lions Club invites anglers, families and outdoor enthusiasts to take part in the 48th Annual Surf Fishing Contest, recognised as Australia's biggest surf fishing competition.

With up to $25,000 in prizes up for grabs, including the coveted first prize for Mulloway (Jewfish), there's plenty of excitement for seasoned anglers and budding young fishers alike. The competition features both Senior and Junior (under 14) categories, making it a fantastic weekend for the whole family.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Long Beach and the Coorong National Park, the competition stretches along the coastline from Blackford Drain in the south to 42 Mile Crossing in the north, taking in the beautiful Younghusband Peninsula.

Whether you're chasing the big catch, enjoying a weekend camping by the coast or simply soaking up the summer atmosphere, this iconic annual event is a great excuse to gather your mates, fire up the BBQ and enjoy the great outdoors.

Best of all, proceeds support charitable causes and Lions Club community projects, so every cast helps make a difference.

Pack the rods, load the esky and make Kingston SE your destination for an unforgettable weekend of surf fishing!
